CONFERENCE HOTEL

The conference hotel is the Huntington Holiday Inn & Suites, 800 3rd Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701. Conference attendees may reserve a room for the day before the conference, Wednesday, October 18.

Conference attendees staying in the Huntington area on Saturday or Saturday and Sunday night will need to switch to the Holiday Inn & Suites, Barboursville, 3551 US-60, Barboursville, WV 25504. There will be free transportation from Huntington to Barboursville. The journey time from Huntington to Barboursville is approximately twenty minutes.

1. The rate for the conference hotel is $109 plus taxes per night for a single or double room and includes breakfast
2. All reservations must be made before September 28
3. Book rooms under the reservation for “Sermon Studies at Marshall University” to obtain the correct rate
4. The reservation number Huntington Holiday Inn & Suites is +1 304-523-8880
5. The reservation number for the Barboursville Holiday Inn & Suites is +1 304-733-3338
6. A booking for the Huntington Holiday Inn will not carry over to the Barboursville Holiday Inn
7. A hotel shuttle operates between both hotels and the airport

REGISTRATION

Everyone attending the conference must register for it.

Attendees reading a paper or participating in a roundtable must pay the full registration fee of $150. The registration fee includes all meals and coffee breaks.

Attendees from the Huntington area not reading a paper nor participating in a roundtable can pay a one-day registration fee of $30 for each day they attend. The registration fee does not include any meals.

Marshall University faculty, staff, and students do not need to pay a registration fee.

PUBLIC SESSIONS (NOT REQUIRING REGISTRATION)

There are two sessions of the conference which are open to the public and do not require registration.

The lecture by Marc Saperstein at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 19 in Smith Hall 154
“Jewish Pulpit Responses to Nazi Persecution and Mass Murder, 1933-1945”

The performance by George Drance at 7:30 PM, Saturday, October 21 in Jones C. Edwards Performing Arts Center
Performance of *mark: A Contemporary Paraphrase of the Gospel of Mark

MEALS

The full registration fee includes all meals.

The meals in the Marshall Student Center (MSC) are open to all. Those who have not paid the full registration fee will be responsible for any meals purchased at MSC.

Those who have not paid the full registration fee must indicate on the registration form if they wish to have the boxed lunch on Saturday afternoon and/or the dinner on Saturday evening.

TRANSPORTATION

There is a shuttle from the Huntington Tri-State Airport to the Huntington Holiday Inn & Suites.
Call 304-523-8880 to request the shuttle if it not already at the airport.

There will be a shuttle from the Huntington Holiday Inn & Suites to and from the Marshall University Campus.

Thursday, October 19: 11:30 AM & 12:00 PM (to campus); 9:15 PM & 9:45 PM (to hotel)

Attendees who miss the hotel shuttle can take the Marshall University Shuttle. The stop is a five-minute walk from the hotel and there are stops throughout the Marshall University campus.

The Marshall University campus is an approximately thirty-minute walk from the Huntington Holiday Inn & Suites.
